We’re shortlisted for two awards!

We’re delighted to be shortlisted for two prestigious awards celebrating excellence in the charity sector.

The first is a national shortlisting in the Third Sector Awards, in the ‘Breakthrough of the Year’ category, for our work to create an army of potential lifesavers on Restart a Heart Day 2023.

Over the course of the day we equipped over 17,000 children and adults across the region with the skills to provide CPR and use a defibrillator that could one day help them to save a life, through free online streaming sessions with our expert crew.

The shortlisting has been announced when we’re busy preparing for Restart a Heart Day 2024, when we want to go above and beyond the number of people trained last year, so it couldn’t be better timing! For all the latest details on when and where you can learn CPR with our crew for free this October, check out our dedicated Restart a Heart webpage.

The Third Sector Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of individuals and organisations and recognise the tireless efforts and the immense value that the third sector brings to our communities.

The event takes place in London on Friday 20 September, and we look forward to bringing you news from the night.

We’re also thrilled to be a finalist in the Kent Charity Awards in the Large Charity of the Year category.

The Kent Charity Awards aim to showcase the exceptional work of charities and individuals in Kent. With over 70 charities entered for the awards, the judges all agreed that this was, yet again, a tough field of entries to judge.

The judges wanted to hear about the key impacts our charity has had over the last twelve months. Besides our work for Restart a Heart Day, these included the fact that in 2023 our service was in demand more than ever before, and we responded to a record number of over 3,300 incidents.

In the last year we have also marked ten years of carrying blood on board and ten years since we became the first air ambulance in the country to provide a 24/7 helicopter service all year round.

The winners of the Kent Charity Awards will be announced at a gala awards evening to be held on Thursday 5 September at The Corn Exchange in Rochester.
