Our commitment
At KSS, the health, safety of wellbeing of our staff, patients, supporters and volunteers is our priority.
Our incredible team have the right to work and provide treatment and care for others without the fear of being abused and attacked, in a culture of mutual respect. Being assaulted or abused is not part of their job.
As such, we are committed to a Zero Tolerance approach to any form of unacceptable behaviour to safeguard our team and our patients.
How do we define unacceptable behaviour?
Whilst it is not possible to list all types of incidents, some examples of unacceptable behaviour are provided below:
- Aggressive (whether verbal or physical) or violent behaviour
- Verbal abuse and offensive language
- Discriminatory or hate comments
- Antisocial behaviour
- Negative, malicious or stereotypical comments
- Carrying weapons or using objects as weapons
- Threats or risk of injury to our staff
- Intimidation
- Unreasonable behaviour and non-cooperation
Our responsibility
We’re committed to ensuring that:
- Team KSS will always show respect and integrity when dealing with others; we expect others to treat us with the same respect
- Team KSS will behave in line with our values of being Caring, Trusted, Dedicated, Innovative and Collaborative
- We continue to develop and implement our approach to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion so that everyone feels welcomed and valued
- We enable a safe and secure working environment for Team KSS
- Team KSS are well trained and well supported, and are aware of how to report such incidents
- We treat and care for those with clinical conditions and lack of capacity, and provide support appropriately
- We promote and implement our Zero Tolerance approach
If felt to be appropriate, we report incidents to the police.
