There were smiles, surprises and plenty of dancing as staff and volunteers from Team KSS came together at Asda Kings Hill to celebrate one of our most dedicated supporters, Tim Bell, after he reached the remarkable milestone of raising £100k for KSS in just six years.
Members of our KSS Public Fundraising Team and Events Team organised a special surprise celebration for Tim, recognising his unwavering commitment to supporting our lifesaving charity and the extraordinary difference he has made through his fundraising efforts.
Tim has become a familiar and much-loved face across Kent and beyond. A retired engineer with a passion for supporting KSS, he is well known for his unique fundraising helicopter, creatively built from a mobility scooter and complete with lights, music and even a smoke machine. His infectious enthusiasm, dancing and determination to make people smile have helped him raise an incredible amount for KSS over the years.
The surprise celebration took place at Asda Kings Hill, a location that has regularly supported Tim’s fundraising activities. He was presented with a special award in recognition of his outstanding achievement.
The occasion also recognised Tim’s good friend and fellow KSS volunteer Den Ines, who received his own bag of goodies as a thank you for the fantastic support he has provided to Tim over the past couple of years. The pair have become a familiar sight together, helping raise vital funds and awareness for KSS.
To mark the occasion in true Team KSS style, our Public Fundraising and Events teams donned helicopter hats and joined in with plenty of dancing, creating a memorable celebration worthy of Tim’s achievement.

To raise £100k is a phenomenal achievement, and one that he can be proud of. We were delighted to spring this surprise on Tim and celebrate his achievement.”
Tim’s incredible fundraising journey has inspired supporters across the region. In 2024, he was named ITV Meridian Pride of Britain Fundraiser of the Year after raising nearly £60k for KSS, and he has continued to go from strength to strength since then.
As an independent charity, we rely on the generosity of supporters like Tim to help fund our lifesaving service across Kent, Surrey and Sussex. Every pound raised helps ensure our expert crews can continue delivering critical pre-hospital emergency care whenever and wherever it is needed most.
Everyone at KSS would like to extend a huge thank you and congratulations to Tim on reaching this extraordinary £100k milestone, and to Den for his invaluable support. Together, they are helping to save lives when every second counts.
