Supporter Steve Wolfe named Fundraiser of the Year at BBC Kent Make a Difference Awards

We’re delighted to celebrate the incredible achievement of our long-time supporter Steve Wolfe, who has been awarded Fundraiser of the Year at the BBC Kent Make a Difference Awards 2025.

The awards, now in their fourth year, celebrate individuals and groups across Kent who go above and beyond to improve the lives of others. Steve was honoured at a ceremony held at Canterbury’s Malthouse Theatre, hosted by BBC Radio Kent presenters Dominic King and Sophie Sutton.

Steve was recognised for his extraordinary “Run the World” challenge — a personal mission to run 40,075km, the equivalent of the Earth’s circumference, by 31 December 2026.

What sets Steve’s challenge apart is his unwavering commitment: he is running every single day without a break. His inspirational effort has raised vital awareness and funds for our lifesaving charity. Last year he took on 50 half marathons in 50 days to celebrate his fiftieth birthday.

Steve committed himself to raising funds for our charity after seeing our lifesaving work at first hand. Steve performed CPR on a fellow parkrun participant in cardiac arrest who was then cared for by KSS.

KSS Running and Challenge Manager Lola Inge commented: “We are absolutely delighted that Steve’s dedication has been recognised with this prestigious award. His passion, perseverance, and generosity are truly inspiring. Steve is not only raising funds — he’s raising awareness and hope and we are incredibly grateful for his support.”

Steve’s story is a powerful reminder of the impact one person can make. His efforts continue to support KSS’s mission to provide the best possible pre-hospital emergency care, whenever and wherever it’s needed.
