We recommend consulting a solicitor when writing your Will, to cover all legal formalities and ensure your Will is valid. The cost of this will vary depending on the complexity of your Will and the assets you have/arrangements you need to make.
If you use Bequeathed to make your Will, you will receive a 30 minute appointment with a solicitor free of charge to help you complete your Will.
The Law Society can also help you to find a local solicitor. For more information, call 020 7320 5650 or visit www.lawsociety.org.uk.
Gifts to charity are usually tax-free — and may even reduce the Inheritance Tax on your estate. Everyone’s circumstances are different, so we’d always recommend speaking to a solicitor or visiting gov.uk/inheritance-tax for the most up-to-date advice.
It is your choice whether you disclose that you have left us a legacy gift. We would love to hear from you so we can thank you personally. Knowing also enables us to plan for the future. To let us know about a gift, please contact us using the details below. Any information you give us will be kept in strict confidence.
You don’t need to be wealthy to leave a gift to charity in your Will. Each and every gift makes a difference. People often find they can afford to be more generous in their Will than in their lifetime. No matter the size or amount, your gift will contribute to our life-saving care throughout Kent, Surrey and Sussex.
Absolutely, your Will is a personal document reflecting your final wishes. You can change your mind at any time.
We are very grateful for all donations. However, we encourage supporters to consider a legacy gift because we don’t know what situations may arise in the future, and this kind of gift allows us to be prepared for this.
We understand that you may have a preference as to how your gift is used – and you’re entitled to this. However, we encourage gifts left to us to be unrestricted, because it means we are free to use the money where it is most needed at the time.
