From 3 to 7 November, weโre joining charities across the UK in celebrating Trusteesโ Week 2025 โ a time to recognise the incredible contribution made by trustees and the vital role they play in the charitable sector.
Trustees are volunteers who lead and govern charities, working together to make effective decisions that help organisations thrive. Across the UK, nearly one million trustees give their time, expertise, and commitment to support causes close to their hearts.
At KSS, we are proud to be guided by a board of 11 dedicated and multi-skilled Trustees. Their leadership, strategic oversight, and unwavering support enables us to deliver our world-leading emergency medical service across Kent, Surrey, and Sussex.
Our Board is led by our Chair, Professor Andy Rhodes. Professor Rhodes, a leading clinician with an exceptional track record in research and clinical governance, joined our Board of Trustees in 2019 and was appointed Chair in January 2025.
Our Trustees bring a wealth of experience from diverse sectors, offering well-informed advice and helping shape our plans and priorities. They are collectively responsible for the governance of KSS, ensuring our staff act in the charityโs best interest and that our funds are used to achieve maximum public benefit. Their work ensures KSS operates as a highly ethical and trusted charity.
Chair of our Board, Professor Andy Rhodes said: โAt KSS, we take great pride in striving for excellence in all we do. As Chair, it is a privilege, alongside my fellow Trustees, to help ensure we remain steadfast in this aspiration.
โOn behalf of the Board of Trustees, I would like to thank all our pilots, doctors, paramedics, dispatchers, support staff, volunteers, supporters and stakeholders for everything they do to make our work possible and to ensure we continue providing the very best care to those who need us most.โ
Trustee Jane Redman said: โOur role as a Trustee Board is to act with honesty and integrity, provide strategic direction, and ensure that the organisation is effectively managed by the brilliant KSS team.
โI joined the Board about three years ago. Iโve worked in the charity sector for nearly 30 years across different fundraising and comms roles, and at a Senior Leadership level. I wanted to use that experience to add benefit to a local charity and when the opportunity came up to be a Trustee with KSS I jumped at it! Itโs a huge privilege to be part of such an amazing charity, that plays such a pivotal role in saving lives across Kent, Surrey and Sussex.โ
