Today we are delighted to be celebrating three years since we introduced our first Team KSS Young Ambassadors.
Since then, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming ten remarkable young individuals, who’ve all made a significant impact in raising awareness and vital funds. Chanel, Charlie, Chloe, Isaac, Louis, Madi, Max, Murray, Phoebe, and William all have a very personal connection to our work. They are truly exceptional, and their passion and dedication to making a difference in their communities continues to inspire us all.
Together they have supported and raised vital funds for our campaigns such as Buy It for Life, proudly represented us at fundraising events and cheque presentations, created content for events and initiatives like Heli Hike and Restart a Heart Day, signed thank-a-thon cards, featured in heartfelt thank you videos to our supporters and more.
They have done all of this selflessly, on a voluntary basis, to support our charity, and we are grateful to each of them.
Sarita Taneja, our Patient and Family Aftercare Manager, who launched the programme and works closely with our amazing Young Ambassadors said: “In the past three years, our Young Ambassador programme has flourished. We are immensely proud of all their accomplishments, from radio appearances and awareness training to cheering on our event fundraisers and even participating in the challenges themselves. The bonds they are building are truly heartwarming, and we look forward to many more exciting moments with them.”
Since bidding a fond farewell to Chanel last week, as she starts university, we are pleased to welcome our newest Team KSS Young Ambassador, eight-year-old Isla Mayne.
We cared for Isla in 2020 after she was seriously injured by a falling tree whilst out walking with her family. Isla’s sister Maisy heartbreakingly passed away in this tragic accident.
Isla has bravely recovered from her injuries, and, alongside her family, has become an important part of our KSS family, helping to raise vital funds in support and thanks of the care we gave but also in Maisy’s memory.
Isla’s really looking forward to joining Team KSS: “I’m very excited to have been asked to be a Young Ambassador and to help raise money for the air ambulance. They saved my life so I am proud to be joining this special team to do all I can to help.”
