We’re delighted to welcome six-year-old Elodie Austin from Whitstable as the newest member of our inspirational Team KSS Young Ambassadors.
In September 2025, when Elodie was just five years old, she became seriously unwell after suffering a medical seizure at home. We responded rapidly, providing specialist pre-hospital emergency care before flying her to King’s College Hospital in London, with her mum Becky travelling alongside her.
Elodie, and her parents Luke and Becky, have become part of the KSS family after getting in touch with the charity’s Patient and Family Aftercare service. They recently attended the Team KSS Young Ambassadors Summer Picnic, where Elodie met fellow ambassadors and learned more about how young people help raise awareness and support for the charity’s lifesaving work.
Inspired by the care she has received, Elodie is now looking forward to helping us continue saving lives across Kent, Surrey and Sussex.
Elodie Austin said: “I am looking forward to being a Young Ambassador, because I know how much the air ambulance helps people.
I would like to help raise money to help other people, like the air ambulance helped me.”
As a Young Ambassador, Elodie is part of a growing team of inspirational young people who use their own experiences of KSS to help raise awareness and support for the charity across Kent, Surrey and Sussex. The ambassadors attend events, share their stories and help highlight the difference KSS makes to local families facing medical emergencies and traumatic injuries.

We’re honoured to welcome Elodie to Team KSS. Her enthusiasm, kindness and desire to help others will make her a fantastic ambassador for our charity and our mission to save lives every day.
