We’re thrilled to announce an exciting collaboration with the Scouts with the launch of our new KSS Mission Badge.
Developed in partnership with Kent Scouts, the badge is also open to Scouts in Surrey and Sussex to take part in. The Mission Pack contains missions appropriate for each age group and will educate and inspire Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers about emergency medical services, aviation, and vital lifesaving skills.
This adventurous badge challenges participants to complete a series of KSS `missionsโ. Each of these offers a unique insight into the lifesaving work of KSS. They cover everything from when and how to call 999, to learning CPR and defibrillation, exploring basic aviation skills, and understanding the importance of fitness for those working for an emergency air ambulance service like KSS.
Key Features of the KSS Mission Badge:
- Educational Missions: Learn what to do in an emergency and how air ambulance teams save lives.
- Interactive Learning: Hands-on activities including CPR and emergency response.
- Community Engagement: Fundraising and awareness activities to support KSS.
- Career Inspiration: Explore diverse roles within emergency medical services.
KSS Senior Community Fundraiser Fran Vale said: โWeโre thrilled by the enthusiasm from the Scouting community across Kent, Surrey, and Sussex for our new Mission Badge. We canโt wait to welcome the first Scouts to take on the challenge. We look forward to working with everyone who signs up to help inspire young people through practical lifesaving skills and meaningful community involvement.โ
Melvin Wilson, Kent Scouts County Programme Team Leader โ Delivery, said: โWe are delighted to have worked with KSS on this new badge which we know our members are really going to enjoy working on. Air ambulances provide such a vital service and this new badge will give Scouts a real insight into their lifesaving work. Who knows, it may even inspire some of them to become doctors, paramedics, dispatchers and fundraisers when they are thinking about their future career.โ
