Sussex football team Saltdean United FC will be raising awareness of KSS during the 2026/27 season by proudly wearing our logo on their shirts.
The club kicked off their collaboration at a special charity match in aid of KSS against a Shepherd Neame XI on Saturday, 4 July. The match ended 2–2 and went to penalties, with the Shepherd Neame XI holding their nerve to win the shoot-out. It was also a win for KSS, with Saltdean United FC donating £500 and £1,304 being raised on the day.
The opportunity to support our lifesaving charity arose from KSS’s partnership with Shepherd Neame, official drinks supplier to Saltdean United FC. After learning more about KSS, the club decided they would like to publicise KSS on their shirts for free. Throughout the season, the club will run a number of fundraisers in aid of KSS.
Saltdean United was founded in 1966 by seven founding members inspired by England’s World Cup success. The Men’s First Team competes in the Southern Combination Division One and the Women’s First Team are newly promoted to the Women’s National League Division One South both playing home games at Hill Park.
During the season paramedics and doctors from KSS will be giving CPR and defibrillator training to club officials, players and supporters. Every day across Kent, Surrey and Sussex around 25 people experience a sudden cardiac arrest at home or out and about in the community. Sadly, only about 1 in ten people currently survive. You can more than double someone’s chance of surviving a cardiac arrest by starting CPR and using defibrillator in the first crucial minutes before the emergency services arrive.
