Congratulations to our nine fantastic runners who took part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon on 3rd April 2022. Despite the chilly weather, all our participants finished the race, pounding the streets of Westminster and the City of London to raise vital funds for our life-saving charity.
Together they raised over £8,500 and finished in the top 10% of charities for average page value on Just Giving!
The team included two KSS crew members, Dr Andy Al-Rais and Paramedic Sam Taylor. All our runners were cheered on by members of Team KSS including Dr Kat Hunter, volunteer Andrea Ruderman, and Fundraising and Events Team members, Lola Inge and Sarita Taneja.
Dr Harriet Tucker was due to take part but sadly couldn’t due to illness, but completed a half marathon in 1 hour 34 minutes, during the May bank holiday.
Paramedic Sam Taylor said, “This was an amazing event, starting at Pall Mall and finishing by Downing Street, with views along the way of London’s most iconic landmarks including Big Ben, Nelson’s Column, the Shard and The Tower of London. It was a fantastic way to raise money for KSS – a charity that means a great deal to Andy, Harriet and myself. The three of us started working for KSS on exactly the same day back in August 2017 and we have all benefited enormously from the time and training invested in us. We are proud to be part of an organisation that is totally dedicated to the provision of advanced critical care to those who need it most.”
Sarita Taneja, our Community Fundraiser said, “Congratulations to all runners and thank you so much for going the extra mile so that we can continue to save lives and deliver the best possible outcome to patients across Kent, Surrey, West Sussex and East Sussex. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who sponsored them.”
Andy, Harriet and Sam have set up a fundraising page – there’s still time to donate.
