Brighton Marathon raises over £20K

We’re sending our heartfelt congratulations and thanks to all 42 participants who took part in the Brighton Marathon Weekend to support our life-saving charity.

Our 20 marathon runners, 13 10k runners and nine cyclists in the BM Ride all went the extra mile during 9th and 10th April, and have so far have raised over £20K.

We were delighted to be a Local Charity Partner for the Brighton Marathon. In addition to the fundraising opportunities, this was an amazing platform for us to gain significant awareness about our critical care services amongst the thousands of runners and their supporters at the event.

We also wanted to send our thanks to Gatwick who kindly sponsored our tent in the Event Village.

Nick Turrell, our Head of Community Fundraising said: “We are incredibly proud to have been a Local Charity Partner for this year’s Brighton Marathon and are so grateful to our 41 competitors who have helped us to raise vital funds so that we can continue to save lives 24/7 and deliver the best possible patient outcomes.

“Our volunteers at the event provided amazing support, with members of Team KSS cheering our athletes at key points along the way. KSS crew members attended, too, in case medical support was needed.”

“The Brighton Marathon is a major fundraiser for KSS. Each year, the charity must raise £15.2M to operate our life-saving service. 86% of our total income is raised through the generosity of KSS’s supporters. We are thrilled to have raised over £20K so far and donations are still coming in.”
