Our annual Golf Day, held on the prestigious Ian Woosnam Course at Dale Hill Hotel and Golf Club, Ticehurst, on Wednesday 24 June 2026, has raised an incredible £25k, the highest ever total for the event, to support our lifesaving work.
A record number of 99 golfers took to the course in glorious conditions, coming together to support us in delivering critical care across Kent, Surrey and Sussex, 24/7. One of our charity’s AW169 helicopters landed and gave players an opportunity to meet the crew and have photographs, offering a powerful reminder of the importance of fundraising events like this.
Funds were raised throughout the day via team entries, on-course activities and a silent auction which included items such as; four-balls at the Prince’s, the London, and the Hindhead Golf Clubs, a personalised bottle of gin decorated with a handpainted KSS helicopter, afternoon tea at Chilston Park, an overnight stay at The Pump House at Wiston Estate, and a weekend hire of a Bentley. Other fundraising on the day which contributed to the total included a Beat the Captain competition hosted by the Dale Hill Captain James Gardner, nearest to the pin and longest drive competitions across the course, and a special four ball lottery.
Following a competitive day of golf, guests enjoyed a post-event BBQ and prize presentation, with KSS clinicians sharing insight into their frontline work, bringing to life the impact of the funds raised. Two on-course snack buggies helped ensure players were fuelled and hydrated on one of the hottest days of the year.
The team competition was won by Kent Internal Finishers Ltd, with Arghabridge Ltd in second place and Team Uniper in third. Individual honours went to Jonathan Laws, while Nigel Manson won nearest the pin and Lewis Newman took the Men’s longest drive title and Ali McGuirk took the Women’s longest drive title.
KSS Events Manager, Katie Austin said: “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us and supported this year’s Golf Day. Events like this play a vital role in helping us continue to deliver lifesaving care to those who need us most. Every swing, every donation and every act of generosity helps us be there for people facing life-threatening emergencies.”
We respond to an average of nine emergency calls every day, bringing hospital-level care directly to the scene. It costs over £57k a day to operate the service, which is funded almost entirely by public support and events like our Golf Day.
Golfers keen to take part next year can register their interest now for the 2027 event by emailing events@aakss.org.uk.
