Heli Hike at night FAQs

When do the early bird sign ups close? 

Get in quick, save £1pp before sign ups close on Friday 25th August. 

How much is it to enter?  

Adults are £15 & Children are £10  

Do I need to fundraise? 

We ask all Heli Hikers to fundraise for us. Events such as Heli Hike are a vital source of income and this year, we’re aiming to raise £25,000 to help continue saving lives. Please use your participation to ask your friends, family and colleagues for sponsorship.  

Can I bring my dog? 

Yes please! We welcome all well-behaved dogs at Heli Hike. We just ask for you to keep your dog on a lead throughout. 

What time should I arrive? 

Come along and join us from 5pm, our warm-up will begin at 5.45pm ready for you to head off on Heli Hike at 6pm! 

What are the routes like and are they hilly? 

We’ve got one great route around Mote Park for you! Choose to either complete one loop (2.5 miles) or 2 loops (5 miles).  The route has small inclines, and it will be dark so please do remember to bring a torch with you. 

Are the routes suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs? 

Whilst this is a wheelchair and pushchair accessible route, it may not be suitable for all as it’ll be dark, and the route is hilly in parts. 

Is there car parking available on the day? 

Yes, there is plenty of parking available right next to the event village. 

What should I bring with me on the night? 

• Comfortable walking boots or trainers 
• A reusable bottle of water  
• A coat or umbrella in case it rains 
• A torch 
• Your best glow accessories!  

Who can take part in Heli Hike? 

Everyone is welcome! We just ask for all participants under the age of 16 to be always accompanied by an adult. 

Will there be refreshments available? 

Yes, there’ll be food and drinks available for you to purchase at our event village. 

Where do I collect my t-shirt from?  

You can pop in and see us at our Rochester office (located at Rochester City Airport – ME5 9SD). Alternatively, you can collect your t-shirt on the day. 

What’s at the event village? 

• Hot drinks and homemade cake (yummy!) 
• Cold drinks from our very own bar! 
• Hot food 
• Our crew – come and meet our Doctor and Paramedics 
• Glitter bar
