Our annual Golf Day, held on the prestigious Ian Woosnam Course at Dale Hill Hotel and Golf Club, Ticehurst, has raised a record-breaking total of £24K for our lifesaving charity.
A record total of 82 golfers teed off in brilliant sunshine for the event, which is helping our charity continue delivering critical care across the region, 24/7. An air ambulance helicopter from KSS made a special flypast and landing at the course as guests arrived for breakfast, providing the players with a poignant reminder of the significance of the event before play began.
The event raised a total of £24K with a silent auction contributing a fantastic nearly £4K. The unique prize of ‘lunch with the crew’ at our Redhill airbase fetched £330. A snack trolley sponsored by a former patient added an incredible £800.
At a special BBQ afterwards KSS Doctors Fionna Moore and Harsha Kodakadath gave the players an inspiring talk on their lifesaving work before presenting the trophies.
The team trophy was won by `Trumpball4’, with `Sandrews’ in second and `PJ2Ks’ placed third. The individual honours when to Jez Uk. Tom Phipp won the `nearest the pin’ competition while Terry Simmons achieved the longest drive of the day.
Our Events Manager, Warren Porritt, commented: “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us for such a special day. Every swing, every donation, and every show of support helps us continue to be there for people in their most critical moments, giving the best chance of survival following a sudden serious injury or other medical emergency.”
We respond to an average of nine emergency calls every day, bringing hospital-level care to the scene with specialist doctors and paramedics. It costs £56K a day to run this lifesaving service and this is funded almost entirely by the generosity of the public and events like the our annual KSS Golf Day.
Golfers keen to take part next year can already register for next year’s KSS Golf Day, which returns to Dale Hill on 24 June 2026, by visiting the events section of the our website.
