We are delighted that former KSS patient Andy Constable, who was injured after falling from a roof, has been shortlisted for the ITV News Meridian East Pride of Britain Regional Fundraiser of the Year Award.
Last month, ITV Meridian visited our Rochester Headquarters to filmwith Andy as part of a special feature about his nomination which was broadcast on Thursday 10 September. Andy has been recognised for his outstanding fundraising efforts in support of KSS following the injuries he sustained in an accident in 2021.
Andy fell around five metres while carrying out maintenance work at a football club. His injuries included a broken hip, pelvis, femur, ribs and back, a punctured lung and the loss of a finger. You can read his story here.
He has since dedicated himself to raising funds for KSS, with a series of challenges. He recently completed his remarkable Long Walk Home challenge, walking 67 miles in 24 hours from King’s College Hospital in London, where he was taken by KSS after his accident, to his home in Minnis Bay, Kent.
