Dr Hilary Jones MBE joins KSS as Ambassador

One of the UK’s most trusted medical voices to support our lifesaving charity across Kent, Surrey and Sussex

We’re delighted to announce that Dr Hilary Jones MBE has become an Ambassador for our charity. He joins Olympic gold medallist Sally Gunnell OBE, helping to raise awareness of the charity’s lifesaving work and its mission to save lives through advanced pre-hospital emergency care, research, training and public education.

One of the UK’s best-known and respected doctors, Dr Hilary has spent almost 50 years in medicine and more than three decades helping national audiences understand health and wellbeing through his work as a GP, broadcaster, author and commentator.

As a KSS Ambassador, Dr Hilary will work to raise awareness of our lifesaving service across Kent, Surrey and Sussex and help champion key initiatives, including CPR awareness and public health education.

Every day, we bring specialist doctors, paramedics and pilots together to provide world-leading pre-hospital emergency care to people experiencing serious illness and injury when they need it most. We respond to around nine incidents a day and rely on the generosity of supporters to continue our lifesaving work.

Dr Hilary Jones MBE said: “Throughout my career, I have been passionate about helping people understand how they can improve their health and, in many cases, save lives through knowledge, awareness and early action. The work carried out by KSS is extraordinary. Every day their teams deliver advanced, lifesaving care to people at their most critical moments.

“I am proud to become an Ambassador for KSS and look forward to supporting the charity in raising awareness of its vital work, while also helping to highlight the importance of CPR and other lifesaving skills that can make such a difference in an emergency.”

David Welch, KSS Chief Executive said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Dr Hilary as an Ambassador for KSS. As a trusted and recognisable figure in British healthcare he has dedicated his career to improving public understanding of health and wellbeing.

“His values closely reflect our own commitment to saving lives, advancing patient care and empowering communities with the confidence and skills to act in an emergency. We are incredibly grateful for his support and look forward to working together to inspire more people to learn lifesaving skills, engage with our work and help ensure we can continue to be there for patients when they need us most.”

Dr Hilary’s appointment comes as we continue to expand its community engagement and public education activities, helping more people understand the importance of early intervention, CPR and the role everyone can play in improving outcomes following a medical emergency.
