We visited Camberley Heath Golf Club recently where we were delighted to receive a cheque for an amazing £38K.
The vital funds, which will support the critical lifesaving work of the charity, were raised over the last 12 months, during which KSS was chosen as Charity of The Year by the Club’s Captains.
2024 Men’s Captain, Colonel Ron Rowley, and Ladies Captain, Helen Turner, spent the year organising some great fundraising activities including golf competitions, a successful Bridge event, raffles and auctions. The Club’s main charity golf day alone raised an incredible £24K.
Rachel Oxberry, KSS Surrey Community Fundraiser, said: “The members of Camberley Heath Golf Club have truly gone above and beyond to help raise funds and spread awareness for their local air ambulance charity. We knew they’d raised a significant sum, but when the cheque was turned round and we saw how much it was for, we were surprised to say the least. It’s an incredible amount!
“On behalf of everyone at KSS, I’d like to say a massive ‘thank you!’ to everyone associated with Camberley Heath Golf Club for their generosity. It costs £56K a day to run our lifesaving service. But without the support of our communities, and donations like this, we can’t keep flying and saving lives.”
Colonel Ron Rowley said: “Our members have been hugely impressed by the lifesaving work done by KSS, a charity dependent on donations.
“2024 Lady Captain Helen Turner and I send our thanks to KSS for their vital contribution to saving lives in the most complex of accident and emergency situations and we have been delighted by the generosity and support of the whole membership of Camberley Heath Golf Club in raising funds this past year.”
