Statement on helicopter test landings taking place at the Royal Sussex County Hospital

The opening of the helipad at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton will mark an important operational step for Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS).

The new helipad will enable us to land directly at the hospital ensuring critically ill and injured patients reach specialist on-going emergency care as quickly and safely as possible. In emergency medicine, every second can make a life-changing difference.

We are committed to minimising disruption wherever possible. This includes carefully planned flight procedures, ongoing monitoring and regular review of operations.

The new helipad will help improve patient outcomes and access to specialist care for communities across Sussex, giving patients the best possible chance of survival when every second counts.  At KSS we remain focussed on providing world-leading pre-hospital emergency treatment and care.
