In 2019 and at just eight-years-old Charlie was knocked down by a car outside his home. He suffered a severe head injury, his brain was damaged and his pelvis was broken in four places. We delivered life-saving care at the scene before taking Charlie to King’s College Hospital, arriving within 17 minutes.
Charlie has come a long way since his accident and we’re so thankful to him and his family for joining our KSS family. Charlie and his mum Lauren shared their story here which has featured in our fundraising campaigns. His family have also taken on their own fundraising challenges and Charlie has supported our charity campaigns through featuring in videos and creating artwork. Lauren is also one of our many dedicated and devoted volunteers.
“To say thank you for saving his life, our family are doing all we can to help KSS. Before Charlie’s accident, I never realised just how much they depend on local people like you and me to deliver the life-saving work they do. I am so proud that Charlie has been asked to be asked to become a KSS Young Ambassador, he is going to love it.” – Lauren, Charlie’s mum
