Thanking our Volunteers for #CaringTheKSSWay

This Volunteers’ Week, I would like to offer my sincere thanks and gratitude to everyone who achieves extraordinary things by volunteering for a cause they are passionate about and making the world a better place.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of all charities. The last year has been like no other, having a significant impact on the volunteering landscape with many people stepping up to do all they can to help, and many others continuing with their heroic volunteering efforts despite the challenges and limitations. This year has surely provided us all with a new and even stronger appreciation and awareness of the importance of volunteering to the charity sector and to the wellbeing of our communities. Everyone who offers their time, energy, and resources deserves our most sincere and heartfelt thanks and appreciation.

Our incredible volunteers are a fundamental part of Team KSS and share our people centred, purpose driven and value led approach of enabling the best possible outcomes for our patients. Their desire to help and care for our communities is an example to us all. During the last year, our fantastic volunteers have shown exemplary commitment and loyalty and have been so resourceful in how they continue to support us. Our trustees have continued to give their time to provide invaluable support, encouragement and guidance as we have navigated through a difficult year, ensuring we continue to deliver our very best for our patients and communities. We continue to work hard to look after the wellbeing of our volunteers and to prioritise engagement with them all, sharing our news and updates, recognising and celebrating our shared success, and ensuring our fantastic volunteers continue to feel a valued part of Team KSS.

As we look forward optimistically to once again meeting face-to-face and embracing all that our volunteers bring to our Team KSS family, I want to offer a sincere thank you. Their dedication is utterly essential to all that we do and we could not achieve any of our successes in all areas of the organisation without their unwavering support and commitment. Our future strategy outlined in The KSS Way, our vision for the future, will provide many new exciting opportunities for our volunteers as we look to further develop our services to support our communities. Our future plans also involve embracing the diversity of our communities and ensuring we offer inclusive volunteering opportunities which empower and inspire many more people to become involved. Working together with our communities and embracing collaboration is a key priority for the future, and we look forward to welcoming more volunteers to ~Team KSS, to support our cause.

On behalf of every patient we care for, I would like to say thank you to every one of our volunteers. You are an inspiration to us all, as well as being great ambassadors for our life-saving cause, helping us to #CareTheKSSWay.

I look forward to the year ahead, and all the incredible things we will achieve together.
