Take part in our Hound Hike 100 and help raise vital funds

We’re inviting dog lovers across the South East to take part in Hound Hike 100 this April to help our life-saving charity raise vital funds.

The event encourages participants to walk a total of 100 kilometres or 100 miles with their canine companions in the 30 days of April, however and whenever they like, and through sponsorship from family, friends and colleagues help us raise over £25K.

Each year, we must raise £15.2M to operate our life-saving service 24/7, and 86% of our total income is raised through the generosity of our supporters.  Following the enormous success of the first Hound Hike 100 in May 2021 – which raised over £21K – we hope that even more dog lovers will take part this year, helping us raise even more funds.

We’re incredibly grateful to Gatwick Airport who are kindly sponsoring the event.

Helene Poursain our Director of Fundraising and Events said: “We were thrilled with the response to our first Hound Hike last year, and had such lovely feedback from participants sharing how much they had enjoyed it. I want to take this opportunity to thank you, once again, for your incredible support.”

“This year, in addition to our 100km challenge, we are inviting those who would like a bigger challenge to walk 100 miles – but of course it’s up to you if you would like to walk even further!”

“And with spring and brighter weather just around the corner, now is a great time to get outside, enjoy the fresh air and explore your local surroundings with your hound. There are so many benefits to walking your dog, such as improved fitness, reduced stress levels and lower blood pressure but above all else, it is a great way to keep you and your furry friend happy and healthy.”

“Thank you to everyone who supports our charity. We could not do what we do without you.”

Hound Hike 100 takes place between 1st  and 30th April 2022. All dogs taking part will receive a special Hound Hike 100 bandana, and the first 200 dog walkers to set up a fundraising page and raise £100 will receive a KSS t-shirt.
