We are holding our first ever Winter Ball on Saturday 18th November at the Londoner Hotel in London’s Leicester Square, starring ITV’s Mary Nightingale and science broadcaster and KSS doctor, Kevin Fong OBE, with headline sponsor Specialist Aviation Services.
The evening will be a celebration of our life-saving work to help raise vital funds. It costs £45K a day to run our service. This is a 9% increase on last year, and we predict this to increase further in the year ahead due to inflation.
ITV presenter Mary Nightingale will host the evening while special guest, science broadcaster Dr Kevin Fong OBE, will share his experiences of working as part of KSS’s world-leading critical care team, shedding light on what it is like to respond to an emergency when every second counts. Kevin will also talk about spaceflight and his fascinating work with NASA.
The event will begin with a champagne reception followed by an exquisite three-course meal and wine in the spectacular ballroom, before dancing to party band Fake Tan.
It will be a brilliant opportunity for businesses to bring together clients and employees to support their local Air Ambulance charity, helping KSS to save even more lives.
Kelly Heaton Ralph, our Executive Director of Fundraising and Philanthropy said: “As well as being an unforgettable evening, our Winter Ball will be a unique chance to hear first-hand how the support we receive from businesses, communities and individuals helps us to continue providing our life-saving care across Kent, Surrey and Sussex. It will be a meaningful opportunity to make a real impact on our work.”
Mary Nightingale, said: “As a journalist, I’m very well aware of the vital importance of Air Ambulance charities like KSS. None of us wake up in the morning thinking we will need their life-saving service. But sudden critical injury or illness can happen to anyone, at any time, and so every year thousands of people do. That’s why I’m delighted to be part of such a special evening devoted to raising crucial funds to ensure that this amazing charity can continue to save even more lives whenever and wherever they are needed.”
Luke Farajallah, Chief Executive Officer of Specialist Aviation Services, said: “On behalf of Specialist Aviation Services, we are delighted and very proud to sponsor this amazing event. Whist we play a vital part in supporting the charity to keep flying at all times of the year, this is a very special night that will bring together so many wonderful people and organisations, all of whom share a passion for ensuring the continuation of vital life-saving services long into the future. We are looking forward to the Winter Ball with high anticipation and excitement.”
