We are continuing to monitor the ongoing Covid-19 situation, following all government guidelines surrounding the roadmap out of lockdown.
Patient visits
We are delighted that we are now able to welcome former patients back to our base, to meet Team KSS and ask any questions that you might have about your incident, treatment or care.
Please note that all visits need to be carried out in a Covid-secure way, which means you may be limited on how many family members you’re able to bring with you.
We also ask that you wear a face covering at all times, are symptom-free 10 days before your visit and that you complete a lateral flow test 24 hours before. We must also carry out a full risk assessment before each visit, and time them around the availability of our crew.
Our priority remains responding to the sickest or most critically injured across our regions in their hour of need and so we may not be able to welcome you to our base straight away. Please bear with us as we organise these visits. We need to make sure you and our teams are kept safe throughout.
If you’re a former patient of ours and are interested in visiting our base please contact Sarita on saritat@aakss.org.uk, but please do bear in mind that we can’t promise we’ll be able to organise it straight away.
If you’re a former patient and have already expressed an interest in visiting us then please don’t worry – we’ll be in touch with you soon to update you.
We’re really looking forward to welcoming you to our base, after such a long period of not being able to host such visits. People are at the heart of everything we do and meeting the people we’ve helped and your family members really is important to us.
Please do remember that all visits very much depend on the ongoing situation surrounding Covid-19 and will only be carried out if safe to do so. If it needs to be cancelled or moved for any reason we will let you know.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Our Service Delivery Teams
Our Redhill base is open to visitors but only on a case-by-case basis. This is to ensure we continue protecting our crews, our service and ultimately our patients.
Our Fundraising and Support Teams
Our Rochester base is also open but again, only on a case-by-case basis. Most of our Income Generation, Marketing, Communications and Corporate Services Teams are continuing to work from home, but we are looking into how we can return to in-office working safely, in line with the government roadmap.
Because of continued remote working, it may take a little longer to respond to telephone and postal enquiries so please bear with us. We are still here for you; our supporters, stakeholders and communities. The best way to reach us is by emailing hello@aakss.org.uk.
We’re also delighted to be able to host some other visits which includes cheque presentations. Again, these are being arranged on an individual basis. Please contact us if you’re interested in visiting for a cheque presentation.
Our Face-to-Face Fundraising
We’re really pleased we have been able to restart some of our face-to-face fundraising which includes:
Our fantastic volunteers are continuing to give virtual talks and we have a fantastic story to tell, which we want to share with you, especially during these challenging times.
Thank you
We would like to send our sincere thanks and appreciation for your continued support. Thanks to you we have been able to continue our life-saving care across Kent, Surrey and Sussex. Please be safe and continue to follow the government guidelines.
Thank you,
Team KSS
