December 2021
We are continuing to monitor the ongoing COVID-19 situation, and have made some changes to our services in line with announcements made by government on Wednesday 8th December.
Our Service Delivery Teams
Our Redhill base is currently closed to visitors and non-operational staff, to protect our crews, our service and ultimately our patients and the communities that we serve. This means we are once again unable to offer patient visits and in-person tours of our base.
We’ll contact you if you were due to visit us in the coming weeks.
Our priority remains saving lives and ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients. We also continue to provide an extended service to support the NHS and have transferred over 111 critically ill patients between Intensive Care Units since December last year. We are continuing to work closely with our NHS partners, supporting inter-hospital transfers as and when required.
Our Fundraising and Support Teams
Our Rochester Base is also currently closed to visitors and most of our Income Generation, Marketing, Communications and Corporate Services Teams are continuing to work from home. We are still here for you, our supporters, stakeholders and communities and the best way to reach us is by emailing hello@aakss.org.uk.
Our volunteering activities
Our volunteering activities which involve face-to-face contact, such as delivering talks in person and picking up collection boxes are being assessed on a case-by-case basis. Our fantastic volunteers are able to give virtual talks and we have a fantastic story to tell, which we want to share with you, especially during these challenging times.
Thank you for your ongoing support
We are continuing to live through turbulent times and our ability to deliver our life-saving, critical service, whilst prioritising the safety of our teams, volunteers, patients and communities is of the upmost importance. We cannot deliver our service without your support and we thank you for your generosity, dedication and understanding. Please continue to keep safe and look out for one another.
Thank you,
Team KSS
