Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex receive cheque for more than £60,000

The independent charity strives to save lives by providing the best possible care every minute of the day, every day of the year. Last year alone, they were called out to help over 2,000 people in life-threatening conditions.

Today they were presented with a £60,823.67 cheque from NatWest staff which will be vital in helping them continue innovating and improving the care they can give.

More than 800 NatWest employees in the South East were involved in rallying colleagues, families, branch visitors and friends in the huge fundraising effort.

The husband of NatWest’s South East Director, Lisa Davis, had been saved by the charity following a serious accident, so it was a cause that was especially meaningful to all involved.

NatWest’s Regional Director of Personal Banking in the South East, Kevin Guy, said: “I’m so proud of our staff, customers, families and friends who have all come together to give this incredible charity all that they can. Air Ambulance was very much at the forefront of our minds throughout all of 2018, and we held a huge number of fundraising events including everything from cake and coffee mornings, raffles, book sales and quiz nights in branches, to ‘Come Dine with Me’ competitions and a Kent summer ball. The local community was so supportive as well, contributing to collection tins in all NatWest branches across the South East region.”

Julie Clare, Head of Corporate Relations from Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex, said: “We are truly grateful to each and every one of the teams who have really shown so much enthusiasm and commitment to supporting the charity. A personal thanks must go to Kevin, who has been the driving force in motivating, inspiring and supporting all of the teams to surge ahead with all of the fantastic fundraising initiatives – it is a great example of a corporate charity partnership
